Online Gambling Set to Grow Quickly in the US

Gambling laws are changing around the world particularly with a focus on making some games more accessible and more user friendly too with recent adjustments aimed at tackling online slots in particular – this also means that many smaller services are able to make adjustments quickly and emerge as more popular options within the online gaming space too as these independent casinos in the UK have become amongst many player favourites, but bigger news is coming for online gambling with a sports betting focus from the US instead as big changes are on the way.

That change is coming from a shift in legislation and law that looks to allow online options more accessible throughout many states, something that has remained elusive until now – the difficulties have come largely because of language within any legislation targeted towards online options as many native tribes own exclusive rights to offer gambling services in particular states and previous iterations have been unsuitable due to this clause, and whilst this still remains to be an issue, new compacts and deals have been struck to work around this.

For other states, this is something that has been circumvented entirely – arguments that a launch of sports betting platforms online is not the same as taking away from the land-based casinos that are on offer and allowing for more opportunities to be explored too – this has specifically happened in New York and sets a precedent for other states to follow too where this issue with legislation language may have been an issue.

Success stories already exist too with Colorado being somewhat of a poster child by finding enormous success in its first year of introducing sports betting and lots of help from the added tax incentives to the state too following advice that it could provide a solid strategy for economic recovery following the global health pandemic and has certainly shown the possibilities for doing so. Other states, such as Maryland, haven’t had such success after introducing a bill but being slow to hand out licenses or make the changes necessary and have been an example of what not to do when introducing a new bill to open up online gambling options – given that those in charge have even stated it isn’t a priority and likely wouldn’t be addressed until 2022, it’ll be one of the few states that have got the transition to online betting very wrong and could suffer for doing so.

More changes are certainly on the way as US looks to lead the way for introducing new legislation and set-up great online options and invite international attention, all whilst other countries look to start taking a step back and imposing more restriction.
